Islands.' Yes, we are in the United States, just off the coast
of Washington
State, and we welcome you to our friendly island served by ferry, boat and
plane. We say friendly because Lopez is a
small
island
community, about 2200 full time residents, where everyone knows one another (or thinks they do!) and waves as they drive past.
The island itself is a mystic place where mists swirl up from the sea and dance like nymphs through the shrouds of sailboats and leap into the whispering arms of evergreens. Inspired by this realm where land and sea embrace, resident artists Moon and Jules weave a strand of this mystery into everything they create. When locals and tourists alike visit their studio, the comments are the same: "Your work is uplifting. The colors are bright and cheery. It makes me feel happy." Art is a reflection of the soul.
